Important Compatibility Notices

After installing Campus Pack 2.8.24 you cannot downgrade to a 2.7.x or earlier release.
Campus Pack 2.8.24 is compatible with Blackboard 6.3 and higher. Versions of Blackboard earlier than 6.3 are not supported.
The inline player in Podcast LX requires the Flash 9 player to be installed on Windows XP and Windows Vista or the Flash 7 player to be installed on Windows 95 and Windows 2000.

CP-1469	Expo Teams	The Revision History pages in wikis and blogs need to provide users with easier ways to return to the main revision history page and to return to the page or entry being reviewed.
CP-1649	Expo Journal Teams	A "permalink" link has been added next to the title of Expo sites on users' Expo homepages.
CP-1705	Search	Search LX was not indexing blog and wiki attachments.
CP-1785	Expo Journal Teams	Users were unable to embed .wmv files in their blogs and wikis.
CP-1786	Expo Journal Teams	Media files that are embedded in a blog or wiki using the Embed Media function are always set to auto-play.
CP-1802	Expo Journal Teams	When exporting a blog or wiki, if the user selected to open the exported package rather than save the package, the links on the index page were broken. The workaround was to save the package when exporting, unzip the package, and then open the index.htm page from the unzipped package.
CP-1828	Journal Teams	Allow instructors to prevent students from deleting their comments.
CP-1850	Teams	When an instructor changes the name of a wiki in a course, the original title of the wiki is displayed in the "My Wikis" module instead of the new title.
CP-1887	Journal	The export site feature in Journal LX has been modified so that students can export a private journal, and when they do so the exported site will only contain the student's entries.
CP-1889	Journal	The statistics in the Journal LX sidebar included entries that have been deleted.
CP-1895	Expo	When a Powerpoint file was uploaded into a blog or wiki and a user attempted to open the file in Internet Explorer, the file was opened but the correct contents of the Powerpoint file were not displayed.
CP-1897	Expo Journal Teams	Files that contain a single quote in their filename were causing an error when the file is uploaded to a blog or wiki.
CP-1898	Podcast	The "Play" link in a podcast episode was being displayed on the same line as the description. This link has been moved to its own line to improve readability.
CP-1903	Teams	Students are not able to export the content from the course wiki tool even when the instructor has enabled export for that wiki. Note that this same setting does work for wikis created in course content areas.
CP-1922	Expo Journal Teams	In some browsers, the "delete" link for comments was covered by the right sidebar. The "delete" link has been moved to the left side of the comments block to ensure that the link is always accessible even when there are display issues.
CP-1923	Expo Journal Teams	Nested lists, either numbered or bulleted, created in the rich text editor were not displayed correctly in the blog or wiki.
CP-1924	Expo Journal Teams	The correct amount of space was not being added when a user hit the "Enter" key when adding a comment to a blog or wiki.
CP-1928	Expo	If a user created a page in an Expo wiki by linking to a new page and exported the Expo site, the links to that new page were broken.
CP-1941	Expo	New Expo sites created in Expo 2.8.19 were automatically shared with "Everyone in the World" by default. Users who created sites on the 2.8.19 version of Expo should check sharing settings for those sites to ensure that they are not shared with people who should not access the site. Sites created in this release and future releases will not be shared with anyone after creation, unless the site owner enabled RSS for the site or explicitly shares the site with a user or group. If RSS is enabled for an Expo site, the site will be shared with Everyone in the World.
CP-1943	Podcast	The MIME types for Office 2007 files were added to Podcast LX so users can attached files created in the Office 2007 applications.
CP-1944	Teams	When a user added a comment to a page in a wiki, the user was returned to the wiki homepage, instead of the current page, after submitting the new comment.
CP-1952	Journal Teams	In Internet Explorer, the date pickers on the Create Blog and Create Wiki forms were always grayed out and not modifiable.
CP-1953	Journal Teams	If an instructor used the calendar pop-up on the Create Blog or Create Wiki forms and subsequently clicked any links in the course menu, the course menu would open new browser tabs and windows.
CP-1959	Journal	In Internet Explorer, the "Allow blog members to view Instructor's entries" field is always grayed out and cannot be selected.
CP-1974	Journal Teams	On the Create Blog and Create Wiki forms, the date and time restriction fields for editing were grayed out and not editable in Internet Explorer 7.
CP-1975	Expo Journal Teams	In 2.8 releases, when users hit "shift-enter" in the rich text editor, a double line break was being added instead of a single line break.
CP-1977	Expo Journal Teams	In Internet Explorer, using the color picker in the rich text editor to apply a border color to a table was causing an error.
CP-1991	Search	The "Search Google" option has been removed from Search LX.
CP-1999	Podcast	Podcast content items created in Blackboard 8.0 were not being downloaded to users' subscriptions in iTunes.
CP-2001	Search	If the Search LX indexer failed to parse a document during an index run, it would attempt to parse the document in each subsequent index run, causing out of memory and other issues. This has been changed, so that unparseable files are marked as unparseable and no longer included in future index runs.
CP-2005	Expo Journal	The author filter in Journal LX was sorting users by username rather than users' last names.
CP-2006	Expo Journal Teams	Changes made to file locking in Campus Pack 2.8.x resulted in file locking errors even when NFS locks were configured correctly on the institution's servers.
CP-2009	Journal Teams	When the "Private Journal" option is selected on the Create Blog form, checkboxes are disabled elsewhere on the form for options that are not selectable for private journals. When these checkboxes were disabled in previous releases, the checkbox still appeared to be checked even though it was actually disabled and not selected.
CP-2011	Expo Journal	When a blog entry was edited, the entry creator was always listed as the last editor even when someone else subsequently edited the entry.
CP-2015	Expo	If an Expo site was shared with a course or group and a user was removed from that course or group, the user was still able to access the Expo site via its permalink after they were removed.
CP-2028	Expo	If the institution had links to Campus Pack tools in the Tool Panel that appears in the left column on Blackboard tabs, the icons associated with those tool links appeared very large in Blackboard 8.0.

CP-218	Search	Searching for a string that appears in a directory within a zip package results in an error when the user selects the resulting link in the search results.
CP-228	Journal Teams	When creating graded Teams sites or Journals if the user does not specify an entry name the gradebook item will not be created and the user will not be notified of the error.
CP-232	Search	When an announcement title is changed, the new title is not picked up when reindexing.
CP-253	Search	There is no "Course Content File Attachment" option in the advanced search even though these files are searchable in the basic search.
CP-266	Search	Users cannot search for numbers.
CP-267	Search	Users cannot search on the Work Phone, Office Location, or Personal Link fields in the Staff Information area of a course.
CP-280	Teams	When creating a Teams site or Journal in a course content area, the content area link does not appear in the breadcrumb.
CP-288	Search	System announcements have the wrong URL in search results.
CP-296	Search	Deleted items appear in search results if the search is performed sometime between the time of the delete and the next re-index.
CP-342	Search	Course guests cannot find content in the course when system guest access is disabled.

CP-451	Expo Journal Teams	Changing a user's username causes wiki and blog entries made by that person to be disassociated from the user.
CP-459	Expo	The version history on default Expo content has no base version.
CP-512	Expo	Expo will fail on platforms, such as Solaris, that have a limit on the number of filesystem entries if too many sites are created.
CP-538	Search	If the index merge process is terminated unexpectedly, the main index is unusable until it is rebuilt.
CP-549	Expo	Non-removable default sites cannot be removed from a user's Expo site when the default site is later changed to allow removal.
CP-554	Journal Teams	Journals or Teams content that shows up in the course tools menu will not be included in the course archive.
CP-559	Search Journal Teams	Upgrading to a new version of a Building Block will re-enable course tools in courses where the tools were disabled.
CP-562	Search	The HTML Parser does not recover from some encoding errors.
CP-563	Search	Changing the indexing server does not stop indexing that is in progress on the original server.
CP-625	Expo Journal Teams	The rich text editor uses onChange events, which is an accessibility issue.
CP-719	Expo Journal Teams	In prior versions of Campus Pack the rich text editor would detect "file:" URLs and prompt the user to upload the missing files. This feature is missing as of Campus Pack version 2.7.2.
CP-722	Search	Deleted items appear in search results if the search is performed sometime between the time of the delete and the next re-index and clicking on the link will result in a 404 error.
CP-732	Search	If no index file exists, either because it was deleted or Search is newly installed, users who search will receive an error message stating "This extension has not yet been configured by your system administrator. Please check back later."
CP-735	Search	Advanced Search input fields should be pre-populated with the previous search strings if going to the Advanced Search screen from the Search Results page.
CP-741	Journal Teams	Blogs and wikis can be given whitespace-only names.
CP-744	Journal Teams	In Internet Explorer, the cursor does not focus in the rich text editor on the Edit page.
CP-757	Journal Teams	When a page is being edited by another user, the locked message displayed to the user will not decode any HTML special characters that appear in the page name.
CP-807	Expo	Administrators are unable to create a new site within another user's Expo site.
CP-844	Journal Teams	When modifying a graded wiki or blog, deselecting the "Create a Gradebook entry for this blog" option will not remove the Gradebook entry and the edits made to any of the other Gradebook Entry fields will not be saved.
CP-846	Journal Teams	Users will receive an error message when editing a course wiki or blog page when another user has the "Configure Wiki Tool" or "Configure Blog Tool" page open at the same time.
CP-851	Expo Journal Teams	In Internet Explorer, the Register page is too wide.
CP-852	Search Journal Teams	In Internet Explorer, if the "Open" option does not work when downloading logs. A workaround is to select the "Save" option and to open the log files locally.

CP-857	Search	A corrupt index can cause index merging to fail.
CP-865	Expo Journal Teams	Incomplete or corrupt comment files cause a ClassCastException error when loading the page containing the comments.
CP-875	Search	The "Cancel and Keep" indexing option is unreliable.
CP-887	Teams	If a user has bookmarked a wiki prior to deletion of the course and accesses the bookmark after the course has been deleted, a new wiki may be created.
CP-904	Expo Journal Teams	In Internet Explorer 6, right-clicking in the rich text editor after adding a file may lock browser.
CP-974	Expo	It the System Administrators modifies a default configurable relationship in Expo, it removes all users' settings.
CP-989	Expo Journal Teams	When exporting blogs and wikis, emoticons will not be included in the export.
CP-991	Expo	The Expo Directory is not displayed in the breadcrumb on Expo content area pages, and it is displayed inconsistently on other pages within Expo.
CP-992	Expo Journal Teams	When using the rich text editor in full screen mode, the text and highlight color palettes do not appear. To use these palettes, switch the editor back to the normal mode.
CP-994	Journal	In private journals, the number of entries statistic is not displayed correctly to student users.
CP-1003	Journal	When creating a graded course blog, if the points possible is a large number that is greater than the maximum number of points accepted by the Blackboard gradebook, the instructor will receive a NumberFormatException error. The blog will be created anyways, however the gradebook item for the blog will not be created.
CP-1032	Expo	If a user changes the name of a blog in their Expo site, the name change is not reflected in the title of the blog's RSS feed, if RSS is enabled.
CP-1042	Journal	Journal entries that are returned by a course search are not consistently returned when the same search string is used in the Journal search.
CP-1065	Expo Journal Teams Search	Some admin settings in Campus Pack initially affect only one app server of a cluster. To propagate the settings across all app servers, reboot the other app servers.
CP-1075	Journal Teams	The Gradebook Categories select menu on the Create Blog and Create Wiki forms does not include custom categories.
CP-1100	Podcast	Settings on the Manage Podcast page in the course Control Panel are not retained in archived courses.
CP-1102	Podcast	Administrators get error messages when accessing some Podcast pages in courses in which they are not enrolled.
CP-1185	Teams Journal	Links to some Journal or Teams items returned in search results are broken.
CP-1236	Expo Teams	The homepage of a wiki cannot be deleted. When users attempt to delete a wiki's homepage, they receive a confusing error message. The error message should be modified to indicate that the homepage cannot be deleted.
CP-1287	Search	When the administrator has enabled incremental indexing, new course announcements do not trigger the Search index.
CP-1358	Search	When a user performs an exact search, either by putting the search string in quotes or by using the Search for Exact Phrase field in the Advanced Search, similar results will also be returned instead of just exact matches. For example, searching for "collaboration" will also return results containing "collaborate."
CP-1368	Search	The "Back" button on the Search Results page should return users back to the Advanced Search page, instead of the Search Tools page, if they were performing an Advanced Search.
CP-1437	Podcast	Album art is not displaying as expected in iTunes.
CP-1730	Expo	Only the system roles that are shipped with Blackboard are recognized by the Expo sharing feature. System roles that are created by the administrator should also be usable for sharing Expo sites.
CP-1786	Expo Journal Teams	Media files that are embedded in a blog or wiki using the Embed Media function are always set to auto-play.
CP-1802	Expo Journal Teams	When exporting a blog or wiki, if the user selects to open the exported package rather than save the package, the links on the index page will be broken. The workaround is to save the package when exporting, unzip the package, and then open the index.html page from the unzipped package.
CP-1805	Podcast	Deleting a podcast episode from a course does not delete the associated media file from the file system.
CP-1812	Expo Journal Teams	The Copy, Paste, and Cut buttons on the rich text editor will not work in Firefox. The workaround is to use the key commands for these functions (PC: Ctrl-C, Ctrl-P, Ctrl-X / Mac: Cmd-C, Cmd-P, Cmd-X) when using Firefox.
CP-1833	Podcast	Media files with special characters in their file names will cause an error when uploaded as a podcast episode.
CP-1850	Teams	When an instructor changes the name of a wiki in a course, the original title of the wiki is displayed in the "My Wikis" module instead of the new title.

CP-1864	Journal Teams	Instructors were receiving Javascript errors when they modified the properties of a blog or wiki in which at least one group and/or one individual course member had previously been selected as a member of the blog or wiki. These errors were preventing the instructor from modifying membership of the blog or wiki.

CP-1873	Expo Journal Teams	Some UNIX users were receiving error messages when attempting to upload images to wikis or blogs if they did not have the X11 libraries installed on their server. This has been resolved so that users who upload images in this case will not receive an error message, and the image will be added without the size being automatically specified.
CP-1875	Journal LX	When a blog member permanently deleted an entry in a blog and another member of the blog immediately thereafter created a new entry, the new entry created by the second member was attributed to the blog member who previously deleted their entry.
CP-1882	Teams	If non-members were given permissions to view and add comments to a course wiki and a wiki member shared the link to the wiki with a user who does not have a login to the course, that guest user was able to view the wiki and view and add comments to the wiki, even if guest access was disabled for the course. This has been fixed so that course wikis cannot be viewed by anyone without a course login unless guest access is enabled for the course and the wiki is viewable by non-members.

When the user selects the Recent Search string, the user will receive results from the first course in which the original search was originated. The Recent Search will now only display searches initiated from within the course in which the user is currently searching.
CP-1158	Search	The "Recent Searches" list is not cleared when a user's session has ended, resulting in users who subsequently login being able to see previous user's searches. The recent searches are not cleared when a user's session ends.
CP-1156	Search	Searches are submitted via a GET rather than a POST. On Internet Explorer 6, this can result in an error message when the query string exceeds the browser's maximum URL length. Search has been changed to use POST instead so that no limits are placed on the length of the search string and the number of criteria that can be selected.
