You will be responsible for designing, implementing and testing new features, and will be involved in all aspects of the software, from the interactive Web-based front end through the clustered EJB-based service layer to the back-end database. Regional Sales Manager
We are seeking several experienced, highly motivated sales professionals responsible for developing and managing US sales territories.
While at least one of these positions is targeted to the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast and is currently housed in our Washington DC office, we may be flexible with the right candidate.
Responsibilities: The Sales Manager needs to be able to execute on the following:
- Territory Plan: create, implement, and maintain a regional territory plan.
- Prospecting & Pipeline Development: create, maintain and manage a prospecting methodology to achieve monthly and quarterly closed sales numbers.
- Opportunity Development: manage more than 40 opportunities at any given time at the various stages within the sales cycle.
- Communication Skills: articulate the Learning Objects' value proposition based on the client type with exceptional verbal and written skills. This includes written presentations, reports, and price quotations.
- Exceptional Presentation Skills: the Regional Sales Manager is required to develop and deliver professional presentations using current web-based technology as well as on-site with prospective clients.
- Professional Development: take the initiative to continually learn about new products and improve selling skills.
- Operational Excellence: diligent maintenance of Salesforce and weekly reporting of pipeline and forecast.
- Closing Business: conduct and manage contract negotiations.
- Proven ability to present technical information in a clear, persuasive, and consultative manner to either large or small groups of technical or non-technical people.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required.
- Minimum of 2 – 5 years experience of selling technology related services preferably in the higher education and/or k-12 market(s).
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills required. Preferred candidates will be required to submit a writing sample and give an onsite presentation.
- Proven history of success in an ever-changing, fast growing organization.
- Ability to travel ~30% a year.
Preferred Experience:
- Selling e-learning solutions to colleges, universities, and k-12 institutions.
- Formal teaching, training, or instructional design experience.

Sales Analyst
Based in our Washington DC office, we are seeking highly motivated sales professionals responsible for building new business in select U.S. sales territories. While not truly an entry-level position, this is the starting point for sales professionals in our company and is an opportunity for the right, focused performer to launch their career with Learning Objects.
Responsibilities: The Sales Analyst needs to be able to execute on the following:
- Territory Planning: Understand how to identify and prioritize sales opportunities within a specific territory. In conjunction with the Director of Sales, develop a sales strategy to achieve sales goals and implement appropriate tactics to meet or exceed expectations.
- Prospecting & Pipeline Development: create, maintain and manage a prospecting methodology to achieve monthly and quarterly closed sales numbers.
- Opportunity Development: manage multiple opportunities at any given time at the various stages within the sales cycle.
- Communication Skills: articulate the Learning Objects' value proposition based on the client type and client needs. This includes the ability to develop appropriate solutions and translate them to clients primarily through online presentations, direct phone sales, and other electronic communications.
- Written communication Skills: the ability to develop cogent and convincing written proposals, reports, and price quotes.
- Exceptional Presentation Skills: the Sales Analyst is required to develop and deliver professional presentations using current web-based technology as well as on-site with prospective clients.
- Professional Development: take the initiative to continually learn about new products and improve selling skills.
- Operational Excellence: diligent maintenance of Salesforce and weekly reporting of pipeline and forecast.
- Closing Business: conduct and manage contract negotiations.
- Consultative Solution Selling Skills: understanding real client needs, potential objections, and how the benefits of Learning Objects' products and services provide a viable solution to client challenges.
